Quitting Drinking To Quit Smoking

So I had a big class reunion this past weekend. At first it was no problem, then, by the time the shots started rolling around, we found ourselves at the bar smoking up a storm.

So, on top of my huge hangover all day Sunday, and today and probably the rest of the week, I feel horrible for smoking too. Alcohol is bad. I think I need to quit drinking to quit smoking.

  • Bulls eye. I quit smoking for 3 months. Went out with my one buddy who smokes, had a few cigs had a few drinks, and also got caught drinking and driving. No shit, now i am forced to quit drinking. I used zyban and only relapsed 1, but never again. I suck on hard candies every time I get a craving.

I send you a comment because my new blog will have something to do with quit smoking but not entirely

  • I too am quitting - and am now up to 'day 15'. I have been too afraid to have a drink in case I relapse - as this is how I've stuffed up in the past (once after being off the fags for a whole 2 years would you believe!!). I have always been a 'party girl' and now at the age of 40, am considering 'maybe it's time to quit drinking' too ..... Hmm.... the 'fun' part of me, doesn't want to give up everything just yet.....

  • i agree, its almost impossible to drink in the first few months without grabbing a smoke. The good thing is, you quit both for a little while and you feel about 15 years younger all the sudden.

here is some stuff on my blog about quitting.

  • I smoked 4 years, and then stopped it for 4 years. I dreamt that I am smoking maybe 5-7 times after quitting. The dream was always the same: I am smoking and the smoke is empty, insipid and I feel bad, because of this relapse and have no pleasure from smoking. I awoke with happiness that it was just a dream. Then some day I decided that I am "return bend" J and I am able to have one cigarette…. So I smoke around 10 cigarettes a day present time and I have also started blog that I hope will help me to quit. It is here - QuitSmokingPro.com - welcome to visit!

  • Wanted to share info on a cool Web site for quitters called www.committedquitters.com that I’m finding really useful. It provides support that’s tailored to your individual needs. When I signed up, it asked me tons of questions about my smoking habits (annoying at first – but there’s a reason for it) then it gave me a personalized quit strategy that’s really helping me through times when I’m tempted to smoke. I found out about it when I bought some patches but since I signed up, it’s being offered it free. I really encourage anyone thinking of quitting to sign up…..it’s a really cool tool! Good luck!

  • I have a product that has helped alot of people quit smoking, including myself. It's a smokeless cigarette with healthy oils that actually helps to heal the lungs while satisfying the hand to mouth action that most smokers crave. My website is www.brackinandbrackin.com

  • I was an ex smoker. I had smoked for 10 years. There were times when I hate so much to smoke but I was not able to fight the addiction. So I smoked not because I wanted to but just need to fill up the level of nicotine in my body. I tried many products, nicotine replacement gum, will power (of course it is crucial), patches and so on but the result is the same. I did not smoke for God sake, but I cheated my body by using the gum full of nicotine. So as the level of our nicotine decrease (after 6 hours, only 0.3mg nicotine left in our body) I chewed another one. The best thing is it doesn't smell but nicotine is nicotine whether you puff or chew. Later I came across with this product. Super detox.. Yes the natural way to help me and I succeed. I took only 3 days, 6 tablespoon to quit. This is how it does, when we do not smoke (usually after 3-4 hours) and the level of nicotine decrease in our body, the will be a chemical reaction happens in our brain triggering our body to increase the nicotine. You try to delay the intake as you want to quit, but it still bother you like shit, unless you puff a cigarette. So with super detox, with a tablespoon, it will reprogramme our brain not to think about nicotine even though the level of nicotine decrease. Superb product but there is a time you feel like to smoke but very weak influence. That is when your will power, your desire, must come along. For further info visit http://papamamaclipart.blogspot.com . We are born not to smoke and let us go back to where we came from. Good luck

  • Hypnotherapy as long been used to help people overcome theirs addictions or personal problems. A lot of people have tried to stop smoking or drinking many times before they turned to hypnosis, for a lot of them it is the final answer to overcome their addiction. Fortunately for them, there a many resources like hypnosis eBooks and CD's available on the market. Some will try those products others will go the more traditional way and hire a professional hypnotherapsit for their hypnosis to help them quit smoking and drinking.
