Smoking with Strep Throat

You know it's bad when you just got over having Strep throat and you still want to go and smoke. I always tried to quit seriously after an illness because you didn't feel like smoking. But... what happens is the day you finally feel back to normal it kicks in and you're outside smoking again.

I really want to finally quit for good, but I'm back in the habit again, albiet one or two a day, but nevertheless, that's still smoking.

  • Here I am with Strep and I have a ciggarette in my hand with the urge to smoke! It's so hard not to even though my throat is red and raw, coated with puss! (sorry for the gorry details) Addictions eh? I only smoked one ciggarette today which is good but I'm wondering if it could cause dry socket since my gums are infected too?

  • Wow, that is so true...I have a sinus infection and a mild case of bronchitis [which does NOT feel minor] and the first couple days I was sick- there I was still sucking on a cigarette...It's ridiculous, but we are drug addicts. There's no nice way to say it...It's a legal drug which is part of why we have become desensitized...I haven't smoked in two days now...Maybe I'll quit- I have asthma also- I WILL die if I ever get pneumonia or something...that is- if I continue to smoke.
